Hello! I’m Kim, an artist (but wait, there’s more!) living in North Carolina. By day I work in high volume fine art printing, and by night I attempt to be creatively productive. However, I usually fail and end up watching spooky old movies with my fiance, Gene.

I was raised half in the crowded paradise of southern California and half in the rural utopia of the Great Smoky Mountains. My art reflects this dichotomy by combining portraiture and objects from nature. I am fascinated by the way contemporary human beings see one another and our environments, especially the things that go unspoken between us and how we relate to other creatures. Many of my paintings utilize the Victorian Language of Flowers. However, I also make a lot of work to satisfy my love of the horror genre and other nerdy things.

This blog came about because I felt I needed an extra push to spend more of my off-hours making things. When not blogging about that, I’ll be blogging about whatever strikes my fancy. So here it is! I hope you enjoy, and feel free to ask me if you have any questions along the way.
